Not know...

The world looks sunny
Ain't it?
Brightly colored fun
And the Ocher grim
But behind all this intent
A monster glares at you.

You've been a kid
Happy-go-lucky
And wham!
It pounces...

It ruined you
Impregnated you with truth
Hard and bitter.

--x-x--

Don't snatch the innocence away
Don't show me the insides
I wish to not know...

A simple wish that can never be granted.

Loved the theme.

Not knowing has its own advantages...Sometimes, it is better to not know and have a great time rather than knowing and sulking:(

But, wishes aren't always granted.

And yet...it all comes spilling out!

Beautiful thought! :)
Reminds me somehow, of lines from Gray's 'Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College':
"To each his sufferings:
...Where Thought would destroy their paradise.
No more; where ignorance is bliss,
'Tis folly to be wise.

Indeed! Innocence, the pristine state of mind, is invaluable. Exquisite writing.
